These portals lead to the hell version of the realm you were in. This DLC adds portals to all the realms you had completed in the base game Overlord. giving you a very formidable DLC.Įasily a must-have for any Overlord fans. That and the music is now more badass than ever. The humour is rich as ever and, for a small addition, the story surprisingly continues to deliver some neat twists. They've tried a new twist on crafting: Providing specific recipes for magical items with fixed abilities, as opposed to the open-ended style from before - though most, if not all, of these are quite forgettable and cannot rival fully-upgraded conventional kit. Where the original title kept things relatively straightforward, here we have a much greater array of creative puzzles and challenges, pushing minion control to new depths. So play golf with an overweight halfling, mow the lawn with a chained-up Paladin and - perhaps my favourite of all - gate-crash an eye-wateringly terrible theatrical production about the Elven race. Creatively, it's a blast and Triumph Studios have really pushed the boat in out in terms of playing around with the game mechanics. Trying to control your minions to solve some of the new puzzles can be frustrating. If you already have a full set of upgraded Arcanium gear, you're better off ignoring these new items.Īlthough the expansion adds much appreciated content to an already outstanding game, it does little to nothing to fix the flaws of the original. The unique armor and weapons added in Raising Hell present new abilities that otherwise would not be available to you however, the new equipment is woefully underpowered. You will also find moulds in these zones to create new and interesting equipment. Your goal is to go to each Abyss and take control of it. The seven sins of hell come to mind when playing through these areas. Abyss Gates are spotted in each of the lands that you have previously explored and present a twisted, more hellish version of each area. Raising Hell's storyline takes place after the events in the original Overlord.
